Lisa Boyd’s Flavor Infused Sliders
Ingredients:
For the burgers:
1-pound ground beef or ground bison
1 TBL minced garlic
1 TBL minced shallots
1 TBL chopped Thyme leaves, very packed
(Optional: to add a little heat, add ½-2 tsp diced fresh jalapeno peppers, depending on your heat preference.)
Salt and pepper
For the fixings:
Hawaiian sweet rolls (or any smaller roll you love), cut in half lengthwise
Burrata cheese ball, sliced into 3 pieces lengthwise
Sliced avocado
Fresh arugula
Directions:
1- Place burger ingredients in a bowl and mix well to ensure seasonings are evenly distributed.
2- Measure meat into 1/3 cup increments.
3- Form measured meat portions into circle patties as instructed below.
4- Place formed patties on a parchment paper covered baking sheet.
5- Season patties with salt and pepper as desired.
(If making these ahead of time, stop at this point and refrigerate the meat until you are ready to cook.)
To cook:
6- Preheat BBQ to 600°F.
7- Once BBQ is hot, place seasoned side of patty directly on hot grill and season the other side with salt and pepper.
8- Close grill lid and cook for 3-6 minutes, depending on your desired doneness.
9- Flip patty and cook for another 3-6 minutes with the lid closed.
10-Once patty is cooked to your liking, move it to the top rack of BBQ. Place the burrata cheese on top of the patty, and allow it to melt for 2-3 minutes with the lid open.
11-Serve in between a fresh, delicious Hawaiian roll, cut lengthwise, and top with avocado, and arugula. Enjoy!
TIPS on forming hamburger patties:
1- Gently press and turn the measured meat portion between the palms of your hands using your thumbs to form the edge of the patty. Aim for a patty that is 4” in diameter for these sliders.
2- Try to form the patties with a thicker edge and an indented center. (This allows for more even cooking throughout.)
